A comprehensive exam is more in depth than a regular periodic exam and will take longer to complete. It involves an in-depth assessment of your jaw muscles, joint, bite, teeth, gums and tissues. Comprehensive exams are generally conducted on new patients, after 3-5 years for existing patients, or if there has been a significant change in medical or dental history.
